Hi, I'm Richard Ingram
A native of Georgia, Richard A. Ingram, Jr. was born on November 26, 1959. His first love for two wheels was his metallic blue Schwinn Stingray bicycle with a banana seat, sissy bar, and high-rise handle bars. Richard and his friends would often drag race one another for bragging rights.
In 1971, when he was just 11 years old, Richard got his first motorcycle: a new, red Honda SL70. It was cutting-edge at the time, and not only did Richard learned to race it, but he learned that wheelies were his specialty! In 1973, he moved up to a Honda XL 100 and frequently entered in it in enduro races, winning the 1975 Studhorse Enduro in McCormick, South Carolina.
Richard attended public schools in Augusta, Georgia, and graduated from Westside High School in 1977. In the 1970s, Richard’s mother and father started a masonry construction company where he worked as a brick mason for six years building schools, shopping centers, and malls throughout Georgia. Richard had inherited his parents’ strong work ethic, and the teenager also helped maintain the company’s fleet of trucks, tractors, heavy machinery, and small engines where he learned to become “a good wrench.”
In 1983, while enjoying his hobby of weightlifting, Richard injured his back and was sidelined from construction work. Not one to ever sit idle, he began working at the well-known Augusta-based law firm of Fleming and Blanchard, P.C. and continued to do so all while attending Augusta College. Richard graduated in 1987 and continued on to attend the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, where he made the Dean’s List every semester and graduated at the top of his class in 1990.
In 1990, Richard returned to his home state of Georgia and founded his active personal injury practice, Richard Ingram Law, which focuses primarily on motorcycle, scooter, and bicycle accidents as well as wrongful death claims.
Today, Richard enjoys riding, maintaining and modifying his two 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycles – one turbocharged and one with 178 horsepower. He also likes jumping on his scooter to run errands and cruise around the community, as well as mountain biking in distant locales. He is a true riding enthusiast who also loves drag racing his COPO Camaros – read more about Richard’s racing here!
Richard understands the importance of building a strong community, as he supports and rides in charity biker events all over the state. He often speaks to bike clubs and individual riders educating them about biker safety and giving them the knowledge needed to buy proper insurance coverage to protect themselves from inattentive vehicles in case of an accident.
Richard represents his local motorcycle shops Augusta Harley Davidson, Street and Trail Motorsports, and Tomberlin Outdoors (a Victory Motorcycle Dealership). He is a member of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the Augusta HOG Chapter, the National HOG, and an active member of Abate of Georgia (District 8). As a result, Richard is geared up to help all Georgia riders with their legal needs!
